Who are we?

Olivia Meikle and Katie Nelson, hosts of What'sHerName women's history podcastWhat’sHerName women’s history podcast is hosted and produced by academic sisters Dr. Katie Nelson and Olivia Meikle. Committed to reclaiming forgotten history, What’sHerName tells the stories of fascinating women you’ve never heard of (but should have). Through compelling interviews with guest historians, writers, and scholars, Olivia and Katie bring to life the “lost” women of history. Fascinating and funny, thought-provoking and thoughtful, What’sHerName restores women’s voices to the conversation.

Our interns are Catie Boucher and Kennedy Just.

Katie Nelson, cohost of What'sHerName podcast, sits in front of a bookshelf wearing Dickensian-era cloak and a tall top hat, grinning at the camera, with her chin resting on her hand.

Katie Nelson has a PhD in History from the University of Warwick and taught a wide range of courses in world history and the meaning of life at Weber State University for 15 years. She leads groups of students and What’sHerName listeners on history travel adventures every few months. When she’s not writing, recording, or teaching, she works to preserve the history of her hell-on-wheels hometown for Weber County Heritage Foundation. She lives in a little Victorian cottage with her family and their Zen master, a rescue schnauzer.
